Note: This tool differs between cargo and passenger dangerous goods. Cargo flights can have
dangerous goods
which are not allowed in passenger flights, higher DG package sizes and higher total DG
loads.
Special Loads 777-300ER (Passenger Variant)
The most important point on special loads is temperature. Theres nothing special to mention
except that you
"can" set your cargo compartment temperature to the desired temperature.
The B777-300ER has a forward, after and bulk compartment. Forward compartment has not really an
air
conditioning. It's just "heated" by the equipment cooling. Therefore this tool only places cargo
in forward
compartment that is not temperature sensitive.
After and bulk can be switched to off, low and high. Off means off (like forward comp.), low
around 7°C and
high around 21°C. Those selectors can be found on the overhead behind the circuit breakers.
Special Loads 777-F (Cargo Variant)
The freighter variant has some advantages in comparison to the 300ER. The forward lower
compartment is air
conditioned and in general all cargo compartments can be adjusted precisely (precise to
1°C).
In real life however such precise adjustments are not needed. Therefore this tool (like the real
world)
differs between OFF, 4°C, 15°C and 20°C (+ L & H aft comp). Default value for main compartment is 15°C,
for lower FWD compartment OFF,
lower AFT compartment L (LOW) (around 7°C).
The main compartment is split into two (fwd and aft) air conditioned zones. Since there's no wall
between
them a maximum temperature difference of 5°K should not be exceeded (implemented in this
tool).
Besides that, temperature management is the same.
